How We Make Our Pashmina Shawls
The Changthangi Goat
Reared by Changpa herders in Ladakh's high-altitude Changthang region, these goats develop ultra-fine 12-16 micron undercoats.
Hand Combing
During spring moulting, herders gently hand-comb the precious undercoat. Each goat yields only 80-170 grams per year.
Cleaning & Dehairing
Artisans meticulously hand-sort the fiber, separating fine undercoat from coarse guard hairs for legendary softness.
Hand Spinning
Using the traditional Yender wheel, skilled spinners create thread so fine it can pass through a wedding ring.
Handloom Weaving
Master weavers work on traditional wooden looms for 3-10 days per shawl, interlacing thousands of delicate threads.
Hand Embroidery
Master embroiderers add intricate Sozni or Tilla designs, placing each stitch by hand using centuries-old techniques.
Our shop
We believe every thread carries a story—inviting you to drape yourself in the legacy of Indian artistry and cultural pride.
Timeless craftsmanship
Each shawl is handloomed by master artisans, blending heritage skill with refined, modern sensibility.
